Peanut Butter Chia Yogurt with Chocolate Top

Peanut Butter Chia Yogurt with Chocolate Top

A High-Protein Snack That Feels Like Dessert

Have you seen these viral Reece's Pieces-style chocolate-covered yogurt bowls? After seeing them pop up over and over, my daughter and I couldn't resist trying our own version of it. And we can definitely see what the hype is about (although we were terrible at getting the chocolate topping to crack on our first batch!)!

This version combines creamy Greek yogurt, natural peanut butter, chia seeds, and a crisp layer of dark chocolate for a snack that's rich, satisfying, and packed with nourishing ingredients. It tastes similar to a peanut butter cup, but with plenty of protein, fibre and healthy fats to keep you feeling satisfied.

Whether you're looking for an afternoon pick-me-up, a healthier dessert, or something to help curb those evening sweet cravings, this recipe is a delicious option.

Why You'll Love It

✔ High in protein (27g) to help keep you feeling full

✔ A source of fibre from chia seeds

✔ Healthy fats from natural peanut butter

✔ Rich chocolate flavour but not a lot of sugar

✔ Only 5 simple ingredients

✔ No baking required

What makes this a balanced treat

One of the things I love most about this snack is that it's built around foods that nourish your body while still feeling like a treat.

Greek yogurt provides approx. 16g protein, making it a filling base that can help support muscle health and blood sugar balance.

Natural peanut butter adds healthy unsaturated fats and even more protein while giving the yogurt a creamy, peanut buttery flavour.

Chia seeds contribute fibre, plant-based omega-3 fats, and a little extra staying power to help keep your blood sugar more stable.

Dark chocolate adds antioxidants called flavonoids along with that satisfying crack of the topping that makes this recipe so fun to eat.

This recipe is perfect when you're craving something sweet but also want something satisfying!

How to Make it:

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 3 tbsp dark chocolate chips
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • Optional: maple syrup or honey to taste

Directions

  1. Stir together the Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and chia seeds until smooth.
  2. Spread into an even layer in a bowl or container.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, or use a double boiler.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate over the yogurt mixture and spread evenly.
  5. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  6. Refrigerate for 1–2 hours until the chocolate has hardened.
  7. Crack the chocolate layer with your spoon and enjoy!
